Wide experience on the law of the sea and ocean governance issues.
We are multidisciplinary team with wide experience on the law of the sea and ocean governance issues. Our collaborators were, and some still are, although indirectly, involved in the Portuguese continental shelf extension project and in many other continental shelf extension projects around the world. The Portuguese continental shelf extension project is one of the most challenging continental shelf extension projects in the world due to its scientific, technical and legal complexity. Our collaborators were also involved in the scientific works and legal reasoning that led to the acceptance by the OSPAR Commission of the Rainbow as the first world's maritime protected area beyond 200 nautical miles under the jurisdiction of a coastal State, as well as in many maritime boundaries works in all continents. |
